i had a great experience dining at kao hom! the parking lot is usually full before 3pm, but there is a nearby neighborhood you can park in if needed. i ordered a thai tea and a small tom kha! i was surprised the small size would have served sufficient as an entree alone, i expected more of a cup size. they are legit with their spice levels so be careful if you aren't a fan of spicy food. the waitress was extremely attentive and very friendly :) will be back again!

A family owned restaurant, very friendly, and family oriented. The food is authentic, and the best service we've experienced. The waitress is what made the night special, she made us feel right at home! Bless this family and restaurant

Got a takeout order on a Saturday night. Veggie Pineapple fried rice, chicken yellow curry, fried veg rolls, and chicken Tom yum soup, and a side of white rice. My order came with two small white rices - so I'm guessing the curry automatically comes with it (as it should! But I've noticed some other places in LA charge separately for it). The prices are great! The portions are even better! The quality... awesome! Let me just say, the Tom Yum soup alone... I will come back for! Might be one of my favorite Tom yum soups I've had in a while. The curry was flavorful and the carrots still had a little bite to them (which I like). The fried rice was also very tasty! Rolls were crispy . 10/10 will come back :-)

I've been to this place three times and it never disappoints. It's just a great hidden gem that I'm so happy to have accidentally stumbled upon.

Delicious variety of noodle soups and dishes where portions are decent with plenty of ingredients in each dish! The crispy pork tom yum noodles soup is savory. I opted for medium spice level and like that the crispy pork arrives on a separate plate which I can add to my bowl to my liking. The kao soi curry noodle was flavorful in every bite. The sliced chicken breast in the chicken noodle soup was tender and the broth was clean and simple. The crying tiger was really good. The top sirloin was grilled perfectly, was juicy, tender and perfectly matched with the spicy Thai sauce. For dessert we enjoyed the mango sticky rice :). Staff was friendly. Atmosphere is warm and casual. The are located on Balboa, southwest of Balboa and Sherman Way.

Really good takeout. Good portions. Pad kee mao had a lot of protein and tons of veggies and tofu. Green curry was good, too. But I selected "not spicy" and both dishes were wayyy too spicy, especially the curry. I can't speak to the service or ambience but I think the food was quite good compared to other Thai in the Valley.

Great option for Thai food in the valley! The spicy eggplant was really good and well spiced we ordered it medium and it was a great medium. Their coconut seafood soup, Tom Kha Soup with Seafood, had a good amount and good seafood in it and it was really creamy, amazing. We came right before the dinner rush and I saw how busy it can get but also they don't have too much seating inside. The waitress was really nice and had a calming attitude.

This is a delicious, tucked-away Thai spot located next to Black Heart Coffee and you can easily miss it if you are driving by. There are new owners who took over the restaurant recently and they have added a mom & pop vibe. The smell when you walk in is wonderful with all the food being cooked in the back! I ordered the Kao Soi for lunch on a rainy day recently and it hit the spot! The Kao Soi was delicious and is a rare dish to find in most Thai spots in Socal so when I see it, I know I have to try it. They checked all the boxes with a creamy, complex broth with sweet, sour, and savoriness. The egg noodles were well-cooked and and I liked the fact you can order sliced chicken breast so it doesn't have to be too messy to eat it with drumsticks. The mustard greens was a must and paired well with the soup but I wished the crispy noodles were more crispy as I felt there were too chewy for me and got soggy fast when they were sitting in the broth. This is not my favorite Kao Soi, but a damn good one! The restaurant is on the smaller side with it being on the narrow side. There are tables on both sides and service is great and the staff are friendly and helpful. I'm lookin forward to coming back here again soon when I'm in the area to try the rest of the menu.

Kao soi was DELICIOUS. Creamy broth, complex developed flavors, perfect spicy level, smooth egg noodles, crisp onions, crunchy fried noodles on top, juicy chicken. Mmmm. Some of the best I've had in LA! Pretty small restaurant, functional decor with 1/2 booths 1/2 tables on both sides, &great service! Can't wait to try something else next time I'm in the area

The freshest and most delicious Thai food in the area. I have ordered many times from here as well as other local Thai spots and Kao Hom takes the cake. Make sure to get the yellow curry soup and the pad see ew. Everything from this place is very tasty and the medium spice really brings the heat. The family running this place is also very polite and hospitable and it feels great knowing you're supporting a small business. The establishment is super clean and bright and I will continue ordering from here as long as I can!
